Vocational training for practice supervisors

(Offer exclusively for employees of Heidelberg University Hospital)

Practice instructors in nursing and healthcare professions have a key role to play in supporting prospective professionals in acquiring professional skills. Their tasks also include familiarizing learners with topics such as planetary health and promoting sustainable and transformative action.

In order to support practitioners in this role, the BBNE-PfleGe project network offers further training on the following focal points and content :

  • Fundamentals and key aspects of the connection between the climate crisis and healthcare
  • Understanding planetary health, sustainability and transformative action
  • Action strategies for dealing with the impact of the climate crisis on health and for
    reducing the impact of healthcare on the climate crisis
  • Role and responsibility of nursing and healthcare professionals in dealing with the climate crisis,
    in particular also of practice instructors
  • Learning about, adapting and developing methods and materials to promote sustainability and
    transformation-related skills for practice guidance
  • Discussion, exchange of experience, networking

Target audience
Practical instructors in nursing and healthcare professions, in particular: Nursing (at least 3 years) and nursing (specialist) assistants, anaesthesia and surgical assistants, medical technology for functional diagnostics, laboratory analysis and radiology. However, members of other healthcare professions and other people involved in practical training (e.g. ward/residential area and nursing service managers, facility and practice owners) are also very welcome.
