About the school
We have been training healthcare and nursing assistants at Heidelberg University Hospital since 2006. The Healthcare and Nursing Assistant School is part of the Academy for Healthcare Professions and is located in the Heinsteinwerk in Heidelberg's Wieblingen district.
Theoretical training takes place at the Healthcare and Nursing Assistant School, which is also responsible for applications and the organization and implementation of training in accordance with legal requirements. 18 training places are available per course each year. Training always begins in March and September of each year.
Legal framework
Since 2005, training in healthcare and nursing assistance has been regulated by federal state ordinances. For Baden-Württemberg, the ordinance of the Ministry of Social Affairs on training and examinations at state-recognized schools for healthcare and nursing assistance applies(Training and Examination Regulations for Healthcare and Nursing Assistants - APrOGeKrPflHi) from November 19, 2015.
School team
The School of Nursing is part of the Vocational School of Nursing. The team at the vocational school for nursing includes 42 full-time teachers, mainly nursing educators, two doctors, three secretaries and part-time lecturers. Burkhard Götsch, Dipl. Pflegepädagoge (FH) and Beate Weisser, Dipl. Pflegepädagogin (M.A.) are the school directors of the vocational schools for nursing.
