The specialist training course comprises 120 teaching units and the preparation of a written assignment for the acquisition of the job title "Technical Sterilization Assistant FK II".

FK II is the advanced module of FK I and, in addition to the reprocessing of medical devices, includes instructing and supporting employees and taking over shift management.

Contents

The course content provides participants with basic knowledge about

  • structural and technical standards in the AEMP
  • various laws and standards
  • in-depth knowledge of hygiene and infectiology as well as the various reprocessing and sterilization procedures
  • occupational health and safety
  • quality management and validation
  • Communication and conflict management
  • finance and accounting
  • staff deployment and rostering

Admission requirements

  • FK I certificate from a training center recognized by the DGSV
  • Practical work in a reprocessing unit for at least 6 months

Exam admission

  • Preparation of the term paper
  • Proof of work shadowing
  • Absences max. 10 %
