Idea
The rapid development in the diagnosis and treatment of people with heart disease poses particular challenges for doctors and nurses.
Specific skills and interventions based on the latest scientific findings are required to ensure interdisciplinary and appropriate patient care.
Nursing experts and doctors from the Medical Clinic have developed an additional "Heart Nurse" qualification in cooperation with the Academy for Healthcare Professions. This focuses on the theory of disease, care and advice in cardiology with practical links.
This enables nursing staff to deepen their specialist knowledge and gain confidence in dealing with chronically ill heart patients.
Goal
The participants
- deepen their specialist knowledge of common cardiological clinical pictures and current therapy guidelines
- become familiar with cardiological diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in theory and practice
- know the indications and application guidelines for extracorporeal cardiac support systems
- gain confidence in dealing with chronically ill cardiac patients
- understand the importance of nutrition and fluid guidelines for severe chronic heart failure and respiratory therapy and can apply appropriate measures and communicate them to patients.
Certificate
After attending all five days, participants receive a certificate from Heidelberg University Hospital and the Heidelberg Academy for Health Professions.
Furthermore, the training is certified as "Specialized Heart Failure Assistance" by the DGK (German Society for Cardiology - Cardiovascular Research).

- Lecture
