Studying at the Faculty of Medicine enables you to obtain two degrees in parallel: a state qualification/examination in a healthcare profession and the academic degree "Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)". After completing the first degree, you will be qualified to work in your chosen healthcare profession. In addition to practical skills, the Bachelor's degree gives you the opportunity to pursue an academic career.

Two degrees - Bachelor of Science in combination with training in a healthcare profession
The Bachelor's degree course has been offered at the Faculty of Medicine since the winter semester 2011/2012. This enables you to obtain two degrees in parallel during the course of your studies; a state qualification / examination in a healthcare profession and the academic degree "Bachelor of Science" (B.Sc.). After completing the first degree, you will be qualified to work in a healthcare profession of your choice (see application). In addition to practical skills, the Bachelor's degree gives you the opportunity to pursue an academic career.

Structure of the degree program
The standard duration of study is 8 semesters (180 credit points). Training in your chosen healthcare profession is integrated into semesters 1 to 5. This lays the foundations for your future career. In the following three semesters, studies at the Faculty of Medicine are intensified. Courses take place on three fixed days a week.

Requirements for applying for a study place for the 1st semester
The course is aimed at high school graduates (general higher education entrance qualification) who are interested in both patient-centered work and scientific work. Prospective students who have a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences must pass the so-called delta examination before applying.

- Certificate of general higher education entrance qualification (HZB)
