Accessibility statement

This statement applies to the website www.afg-heidelberg.de, including its English version.

This website is provided by Akademie für Gesundheitsberufe Heidelberg gGmbH, Wieblinger Weg 19, 69123 Heidelberg, Germany.

We aim to make this website accessible to everyone. The applicable requirements are set out in Section 10(1) of the Baden-Württemberg State Disability Equality Act (L-BGG), including the requirements of the German Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) incorporated by reference.

1. Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the requirements set out above. The non-compliances are listed in section 2.

2. Non-accessible content

The following content is not yet fully accessible:

  • Some text does not have sufficient contrast against its background.
  • Page regions such as the navigation and the main content are not consistently marked up. Screen reader users therefore cannot always skip repeated sections.
  • Some input and selection fields do not have a clear label.
  • Some controls and links do not have a name that screen readers can announce, for example image and arrow links in the events section of the home page.
  • The structure of some content is not fully marked up. For example, the home page contains an empty heading.
  • Not all controls can be fully operated using a keyboard. The expanded menu does not close with the Escape key, and after closing it, focus does not return to the menu button.
  • Information in German Sign Language is not yet available.

We are working to fix these issues.

3. Preparation and review

This statement was prepared on 7 October 2026.

It is based on a self-assessment carried out on 7 October 2026: the German home page was tested automatically against WCAG 2.2, level AA, using the Stark testing tool. In addition, keyboard operation of the menu and selected labels and headings were checked in a desktop browser.

The assessment does not cover all requirements of the European standard EN 301 549. In particular, further subpages and the English version, form processes, the mobile view, documents and media, and use with screen readers were not tested comprehensively.

We review and update this statement every year and whenever the website changes significantly.

4. Feedback and contact
